Both are free. Only one connects to prize redemption.
Which Free Coins Actually Matter
Claim CoinsTwo Currencies, Free Either Way
Gold Coins (GC)
Entertainment currency. Refills free through daily rewards. Plentiful, and worth nothing outside the game.
Sweeps Coins (SC)
Promotional currency, tied to prize redemption. Free-only — it cannot be bought directly. Scarcer, and the one to watch.
Where GC Comes From
Welcome package, Eagle Post dailies, quests, the wheel. It is hard to run permanently dry after level 5.
Where SC Comes From
Welcome 3 SC, promotions, events, bonus SC attached to optional packages, and the free entry route.

Important Information
Sweepolis is presented here as a free-to-play social and sweepstakes experience. Games use virtual Gold Coins (GC) for fun play and Sweeps Coins (SC) for promotional sweepstakes — there is no real money gambling. No purchase is ever necessary to play or to participate.
Participation is limited to eligible players aged 18+ (21+ in some states). If gameplay stops being fun, take a break — support is available through the responsible-play resources linked in the footer.
Chase SC, Spend GC Freely
Once the level-5 tap is open, Gold Coins stop being a constraint. Eagle Post refills them daily, quests add more, and there is no reason to ration them or to buy them. Play whatever you like.
Sweeps Coins are the scarce thing, because SC is the only currency connected to prize redemption and it cannot be purchased at any price. Every SC you hold arrived free by definition — which means promotions and events, the ones that carry SC, are worth actual attention in a way that a Gold Coin top-up never is.
The practical rule: never think twice about GC, and read the fine print on anything offering SC.
Why the Scarce One Can't Be Bought
It looks like an arbitrary restriction and it is the opposite — it is the rule the entire model rests on.
That is also why "no purchase necessary" is a legal requirement rather than a slogan, and why the free routes on our main guide are not a courtesy — they are load-bearing.
If you could buy Sweeps Coins directly, you would be paying for a chance at a prize. That is gambling, and it would demand a licence that sweepstakes platforms neither hold nor claim. Because SC only ever arrives free, the activity remains a promotion.
Questions & Answers
- What's the difference between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins?
Gold Coins are for entertainment — they never leave the game and refill free daily. Sweeps Coins are promotional and are the only currency tied to prize redemption. GC is plentiful; SC is the scarce one worth paying attention to.
- Can I turn Gold Coins into Sweeps Coins?
No. They are separate currencies with separate purposes. SC arrives only through promotional routes — the welcome package, rewards, events and the free entry route — and never by converting GC.
- Which coins should I focus on collecting?
Sweeps Coins. Gold Coins refill free every day once Eagle Post is open, so they are effectively unlimited; SC cannot be bought at all, which makes any route that offers it worth reading carefully.
- Do I ever need to buy Gold Coins?
No. After level 5 the daily routes keep GC flowing indefinitely. Buying a package is optional, buys playing time rather than better odds, and is not a route to Sweeps Coins.
